The Summer Academy will be held between 3 – 8 and 10 – 15 July 2016 at the Audentes School in Tallinn (Tondi 84)
and is open for players of all orchestra instruments. We welcome students and professionally trained instrumentalists.

Please send your APPLICATION to plmf@plmf.ee by JUNE 27th
(CV: name, date of birth, address/e-mail, mobile number, instrument,
musical education, teachers, orchestra and soloist experience etc).

 

Summer Academy participation fee is 180 €,
The participation fee includes the study programme between July 3- 8, also lunch on those days and
extra programme between July 10 – 15 together with visitations of the YOA orchestra concerts on July 13th and 15th
at the Rapla Church Music Festival.

This year’s Summer Academy is held in cooperation with the YOA Orchestra,
which artistic directors include PLACIDO DOMINGO, PHILIP GLASS,
MARTHA ARGERICH and YO-YO MA

YOA was comprised via an open competition in the American countries where out of
more than 1300 applicants 77 young musicians were selected to participate
in the International Rapla Summer Academy, at the Rapla Church Music Festival concerts
and also in a one month tour in the summer of 2016 in the Baltic and Nordic area
(Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Denmark and Germany between July 11 – August 2).
In addition, the tour will feature one of the most outstanding Estonian pianists IRINA ZAHHARENKOVA.
This year together with PLMF, YOA also gave the same once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
to an estonian trumpetist Mihkel Kallip.

Sunday, July 3

9.30 – 10.00 Summer Academy opening ceremony
10.00 – 12.00 observing full orchestra rehearsal (conductor Benjamin Zander), including meeting Faculty at 10:30 rehearsal break
12.00 – 13.00 lunch
13.15 – 14.00 private lessons with Faculty (incl. handing out the music for July 8)
14.00 – 16.00 individual rehearsals or observing YOA full orchestra rehearsal (conductor Benjamin Zander)
16.00 – 17.00 private lessons with Faculty or YOA Mentors (choice of teacher dependent on specific Faculty availability)

19.15 Benjamin Zanders lecture “Art of Possibility”

14.00 – 15.30 public concert-lecture by Benjamin Zander with YOA orchestra: “The Transformative Power of Classical Music”

Friday, July 15
