PLMF Music Trust has revealed the program of the XI Winter Festival and started the discount sale of the tickets. From 5th to 13th of February you will see a torchlight procession with a light installation and concerts in Hopner House, Tallinn Philharmonic House of the Blackheads, Swedish St. Michael’s Church and Estonia Concert Hall. On 7th of February PLMF is celebrating its 15th jubilee with a grandiose gala concert where musicians from Estonia, Poland, Israel, Argentina and the UK will perform.

“Since 2006 the festival has taken notice of the people in need in our society with a good deed initiative “Open Your Eyes, Open Your Heart” that has been created just for that,” said the creator and artistic manager of PLMF, Pille Lill. “When buying the festival tickets in 2018 we are all helping the Old Town Music School to provide more students with special needs than before to learn music with the help of support persons. In previous years we have collected funds for the Käo center for children with disabilities for schooling music therapists and buying musical instruments, for NGO Nirk to cover daily driving costs, for Tallinn and Harju County’s Union of Large Families to purchase a van for transporting food and for supporting the children of Saaremaa. Between 2011-2015 we gathered funds for the PLMF Instruments Fund to help Estonia’s top performers to purchase quality instruments.“

Music Trust will turn 15 and it has developed into the most active non-profit organization in the classical music scene in Estonia. At the jubilee gala the creator of PLMF soprano Pille Lill, a multitude of artists who have been supported during the years and guests from abroad will perform: soprano Kristina Vähi, tenor Oliver Kuusik, the laureate of the “Young Singer 2017” prize bass-baritone Raiko Raalik, violinists Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Sigrid Kuulmann and Kristina Kriit, cellist Andreas Lend, accordionist Henri Zibo, bandoneon player Marcelo Nisinman (Argentina), saxophonist Virgo Veldi, pianists Sofia Mazar (Israel), Irina Zahharenkova, Ralf Taal and Johan Randvere, pianotrio HEMEIS and Baltic Neopolis Virtuosi quartet (Poland).

PLMF in cooperation with Old Town Society invites the people of the city on 13th of February to a torchlight procession from Musumäe to Town Square where light installation “Vastlapuu” will take place in order to celebrate Vastlapäev (Shrove Tuesday) according to old traditions.

“PLMF is proud that our traditions are continuing, and that Winter Festival is happening once again,” said the executive director of PLMF Heidy Kiviloo. “We are excited to see the performances of our top soloists, but also the concerts of the guests from Israel and Argentina and of the Polish quartet Baltic Neopolis, who’s performance at the Tallinn Chamber Music Festival last summer was received with ovations.”
