Rapla Church Music Festival began in 1993 in cooperation with Finnish church musicians with the aim to introduce the rich musical heritage of the world to the festival audience. During the years, multiple musical pieces and grand musical compositions which belong to the classical music’s gold fond have been performed. The festival expanded out of Rapla Mary Magdalene Church in 1997 and since then it has reached other cities and counties of Estonia. Professional music has sounded in Rapla county’s small village churches and in the beautiful manors. Most of Estonia’s music elite and foreign performers from all over the world have performed at the festival. In 2016 the headliner was YOA Orchestra of the Americas with world famous musicians – French cellist Gautier Capuçon, conductors Carlos Miguel Prieto from Mexico and Benjamin Zander from United Kingdom. International Rapla Summer School is held in the context of the festival from 2010 with master courses for singers, string and brass players and conductors.

The festival has been awarded with the quality label EFFE 2016-2017. CONGRATULATIONS!

The festival is honored that EELC’s (ESTONIAN EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH) archbishop URMAS VIILMAA is supporting our activities as a patron.

The festival of 2017 was dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and the headliner was the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, soloist ANNA-LIISA BEZRODNY (violin), conductor MIHHAIL GERTS.

The program of the festival will be released subsequently:
