Nordic-Baltic Festival conference in Harpa, Reykjavík
Shortly after our 7th Tallinn Chamber Music Festival - http://plmf.ee/2011_eng commenced, PLMF took part in the 4th World Music Forum and on October 6th 2011 at the first Nordic-Baltic Festival conference in Harpa - http://en.harpa.is/, Reykjavík together with 44 other delegates from 10 countries hosting more than 900 festivals. Jointly we agreed on the following statement:
The festival form is especially well suited to communicate artistic and cultural experience, being a uniquely creative way of reaching different audiences of all ages.
This conference concludes that culture and the arts hold fundamental social and economic value in our respective countries. They deserve to be given greater attention and higher priority in the making of political decisions.
We are hopeful that this initiative will increase cooperation between festivals of our neighboring countries and grateful to the lovely ladies at Harpa for hosting us all!
